Nelson with Marsha my almost gig at Shark's Club, cool hostel/spa and my introduction to the Israeli girls (including guy of course).

Then Motueka, and Golden Bay fabulous...

From my journal:

I met a cool Canadian chick it the Wellington Cambridge Hotel named Marsha. She and I spent a few days traveling to and around Nelson. There we did a highly overpriced though still cool paragliding experience. We also stayed at Pardiso and full advantage of the expansive kitchens, pool, sauna, and spa....really nice for hostel. I also booked a gig at the Shark club and decided to cancel once I made my way south cause' it would be too much for me to go North then Back south to finish my travels ferry; wellignton to nelson
ferry; wellignton to nelson
.

We parted and I made my way to Motueka and on the recommendation of Sebastian from Borneo I stayed at the Laughing Kiwi. Had a great time there and met some cool people. The vibe was chilled and right on the spot. I did a lot of music and internet work and borrowed Hannah's car to drive to Golden Bay. Missed out on Able tasman due to weather.

Over Takaka hill, a little car sick, to and into the Riwaka reserve, up and down the Rawhiti Cave (thanks to recommendation from cali. burner chick Nicole) and then to The Grove of massive bolders and possible LOTR site, to the beech at Pohara with golden specks, and ending at the neo-hippy village of takaka and it's refuge the Dangerous Cafe for a chicken tomatoe pie and a beer. Great and full day! Oh yeah...the highlight: driving back at the top of Takaka Hill was Hawkes Lookout over the clouds, amazing coupled with a brilliant sunset over Motueka river.,
