Australia was unfortunately just a flash in this 6 mo. adventure. Like Fiji it was just a stopover to my major destinations of New Zealand and Asia so I only gave myself 2 weeks. Not enough time for such a massive and unique country. But despite speding 3-4 days laid up in Melbourne with the worst flu of my life I managed to get in a lot and loved every moment of it. 

From my journal:

Sydney Quick for one day and night. Walked everywhere and enjoyed all the sites, Mostly the great $5 Thai food next to my uber shitty hostel called Maze (nomad's). Highlight was the surprise of finding the plethora of flying foxes (bats) in the awesome and expansive botanical gardens just south of the opera house. On my way to the opera house I stalked the actors from the tv show Chuck. The main guy and that hot spy chick. Never did buck up the courage to say, "hi" mostly cause I've got a little crush on the spy chick and it would have been wierd cause I think they were maybe a couple.
