Temp. 4C

At 9.20am we crossed back over the Arctic Circle. Here is the monument on a rocky outcrop that signifies the position. I was actually having breakfast at the time so didn't manage my own photo. It's actually a sad moment because it also means I've run out of time to see the Northern Lights :( They just didn't want to come to the party. I never realised they were so temperamental! This just means that my next trip will either be Greenland or Canada/Alaska. My hunt will continue!

On a positive note, it means we get more daylight time. The sun attempting to rise over the mountains are making the most spectacular colours in the sky, and reflecting on the water.

Actually early this morning around 1am the sky was dark but on the horizon there was this bizarre, huge orange cloud. I still have no idea what it was or why it was occurring but it was memorising.

This morning I also saw two more Sea Eagles. It's funny that I keep seeing them close to salmon fish farms. Clever birds. Now I'm on the lookout for Orcas which are sometimes seen in this area.

Photo 'Wind Swept'

You look like a young version of Mum!
I'm sure I've seen a B&W photo of mum
- without all the layers - just the same expression

I don't know if anyone has shared this blog with mum & dad. Do you know? I'm loving this jacket. It's my incognito look plus saving me from the wind chill factor. Yesterday I took photos from the front of the ship but I couldn't last more than 5 minutes holding up the camera. My hands froze but not just cold, it feels like really painful pins & needles. You can't wear gloves though because I can't use the controls on the camera. Such a hard life! :)

Yep. . . I did about 20 screen grabs of blog pages and pictures to show mum&dad on the lap top. Up to when you hopped the cruise. . . when mum saw the size of it she was very relieved for you. Oh. . . and she loved the selfie in the snow - Inari, made her laugh.
