I met up with Laura at Coffee World, a pretty nice and spacious coffee shop. I don't drink coffee, so I got a mixed fruit smoothie- yum! I haven't had smoothies at all in Turkey, so it was an indulgence to my taste buds
As the adventure of the night, we decided to check out the fabulous FREE sound and light show in Sultanahmed, in front of the Blue Mosque. I would definitely NOT go there just for the sake of seeing the sound and light show. There wasn't even that much light! Ugh! They could really learn a thing or two from the Egyptian sound & light shows! And apparently the language of the day was Turkish. It is a nice place to just sit around the bench with your friends and munch on ice cream or something. I guess you get what you pay for. One creepster was taking a video of us with his camera phone. Again, this is nothing novel, but when he went on for 3+ minutes, I snapped. I went up to him, snatched his camera, and tried to delete the videos. His phone, however, was in Cyrillic and I had to scramble around- not the quick, badass action I was intending to do. The guy eventually stopped when the boys who had gone to get ice cream and beer came back and sat with us. We all walked around and got a free view of a really tedious dervish dance and got some trashy souvenirs, like a very versatile 1-lira scarf.
I really need to work on my papers now.
