if you fly gulf air you will likely make a connection at their hub in bahrain. if the connection involves an overnight stay in bahrain and if you go for the free transportation and accommodation provided by gulf air pls be forewarned that their arrangement sucks. you will need to find and line up at the transfer desk and you will be treated like cattle and finally, hours later, you will be put up in a stinking flea bag after your passport has been confiscated. for a mere $30, you may opt for a five-star hotel with private limousine courtesy of gulf air. what the heck. you only go around once. go for it. the airport is a zoo but the duty free shops there have the lowest prices in the middle east. if you already bought your junkola at another mideast destination you will end up crying coulda shoulda tears at bahrain. during ramadam, they will say that it is against the law to eat, drink, or smoke in public during daylight but that is a bunch of bullshit as the very active hotel breakfast buffet will soon prove.
