Warm welcome in Karlsruhe

Welcomed on the spur of the moment into the cozy flat of a mother and daughter. Sophi and I visited the nearby elementary school where everything was at once familiar and unfamiliar...as we were flooded by the sounds of the German language. Sophi had a wonderful time playing with our hosts daughter, and we spent two comfortable evenings sitting up late, in the light of the advent candles, discussing politics, relationship and all things human. We got an E German, insiders perspective on the coming down of the Berlin wall. We walked along the Rhine, visited a Christmas fair, and then, just as we began to feel at home, were off for another adventure.
