We unfortunately only had one day in Barcelona and a very early flight the following morning, however we made good use of our time. We checked in to our room (a university residence that made us feel young again) and immediately went into town. Our first stroll downtown was down a busy street lined with vendors selling all kinds of pets, like turtles, roosters, rabbits, mice, lizards... really weird. Having had such a good experience in Berlin with the bike tour we opted to do the same. We did the 4pm tour, which is usually the tour with younger crowds and no families, but this time it was only the two of us. Private tour! I'll spare everyone the details of the tour save for the Sangrias we had down by the beach. Amazing! Once we finished, the guide recommended we go to a great local's Tapas restaurant. It was delicious and the picture of the fish fries is certainly worth checking out. Obviously, more sangria was consumed.
We had tried to make plans to see Lex, a buddy from university, but our early departure the next morning and his late arrival that night made it impossible.
This concluded our Spain/Portugal extravaganza
