Hola! Ive been here a week and feeling comfortable. I have yet to be home sick (although i do miss all my friends and family) but I havent wanted to leave once. Where Im staying is a residencia and a hostel. Its very modern style with most of everything being from Ikea. Ive got my own bathroom (which is a closet and everything in it gets wet when i shower) but its perfect and a great space for living in this city. The people Ive been meeting here through the program are mostly from California but Ive made a good friend from Michigan.

The city is beautiful, and packs things closer together rather then up words. This makes for an interesting skyline when there are taller buildings. Bars and stores are narrow and most offer outdoor seating because there inside can only fit 30 people tops. Ive spent lots of time on the beach and exploring the city.I have eaten  and enjoyed rabbit (roasted with garlic and onions) and snails. Ive also into local hot clubs where only a few other people know english. At the club they danced to a song from Grease and the YMCA.. it was awkward and funny for me a my friend. Most people here enjoy listening to dance electronic music and enjoy the "disco". Before leaving a friend of mine got me in touch with a guy he had hosted in highschool and yesterday i met up with him and got a great tour of the city on his motorbike!! It felt so romantic and adventurous to meet up with a spanish man and his bike :) They are everywhere in the city and since I have been here I have wanted to go on one so bad, so when he asked me if I liked them and wanted to go on one I was pretty excited with my Si Mi Gusta Mucho! Perfecto! - He took me up the mountains to the opposite side of the city where we could see the ENTIRE Barcelona. I found out that in reality i was only exploring half of the city. I wish i had my camera but unfortenatly i didnt, but he said that he would take me again. Riding on a motorbike has been my favorite thing I have done here in the city. Teo (his name) is very nice and is a part of another international hosting family.

Closest to me is Olympic de Montjuic, which is part of the hills and holds the Olympic stadium. It has several museums near it and beautiful gardens. Yesterday the my area was flooded with English men in the city for the ESP soccer game. They were chanting and cheering on the streets. Actually I was walking to meet with Teo when I herd all this noise and being curious and having time to kill I went down to the bars they were at. They were glad to see me and i shared a drink with them, took a picture with them and they created a song that was them singing very loudly my name STEPHANIEE o STEPHANIEE it was great! (again i wish i had my camera.. ). This was also the first day of rain i have yet to see on my trip, they were not surprised by the rain and i told them it was probably rainy because of them.

Next week I start classes, which im excited for. Hasta Luego!
