I was feeling a little sick on the boat (again) but this time it was quite a nice experience; an 18-year-old London girl on her gap year and a funny crew member kept me company at the back of the catamaran while I tried to keep my eyes in the horizon. I am glad Simon did not film me this time.

I believe that everything, be it big or small, has the right to live a preferably happy life. I was devastated when after saving a beetle from the floor on the catamaran, this young girl crushed it with her romantic novel. However, when I realised we were sharing our bed with a thousand ants, lots of flying and biting things and other crawling things, I realised the time had come to get rid of them. The beach front bure was also inhabited by mice that were munching away night after night on ryvitas, noodles and sugar IN our bags and were not afraid of people. So, people are allowed to change their minds. I also found a massive spider, the size of my hand in the ceiling. Apparently they are not poisonous.

The first three days of our Fijian holiday we
lazed about in hammocks
watched a family of geckos eat flies in our traditional bure
finished 5 glossy mags
tried to train a boisterous puppy not to bite
planned future projects
slept under a mosquito net (thank God although the cockroaches somehow managed to get to the other side of it)
ate lovely, carb-heavy food
were bitten by hundreds of mosquitoes (just me)
drank Kava, a traditional root beer that makes your tongue tingle
danced the bula dance (S was nominated the chief so he did not have to dance)
met lovely British girls, two surfing Germans and two Americans with a tv-show sense of humour

I am really struggling to just relax! Well, at least now I have lots of freelance ideas and projects to keep me busy while looking for work in Cardiff in the spring...
