Hello guys n gals

Well if you check the dates you will notice that i didnt last that long in the Monastary!!!  It was alot harder living as a monk than i had first thought but i have to say that the actual mediation was a great help.  I learnt how to calm the mind down and relax my body by just concentrating on my breathing  and managed to get up to stage 3 of Antipanasati mediation in just 24 hours..  It was an awsome experience.

The things i found just too hard to deal with were... The silence.  This was a killer because i love to rabbit on and have a laugh so i didnt enjoy that at all.  The bed.  The bed was just planks of wood with a woven mat on top and a wooden pillow for comfort..  It sucked balls i can tell you.  The routine.  Well the routine although very relaxing was a little too much.  Basically you wernt allowed to think about anything else other than your breathing, 24 hours a day.  No books were allowed, no writing unless it was taking notes from the daily Dhamma talks and obviously there was no music which was the worst part.

The bell went off at 4am and the first mediation session was at 4.30am.  Then it was non stop meditation whether it be sitting, standing or walking until bedtime and lights out at 9.30pm..  The food was bland but plentiful but i have to say Burger king was calling me.

I have not regretted my decision to leave once since i escaped the prison as i got the introduction i was after plus i made some gains during my short stay.  Once i got the idea in my head that i wanted out, i just couldnt think about my breathing anymore so i knew it was time to flee.  I actually left whilst th rest of the group (110) were doing their morning Yoga sesh around 6.30am..  I was sooo happy when i finally got out.

Since then i have met some great people and had an absolute blast on the Andaman coast.  I have gone through another change phase in that time...  I decided to bring my body in line with how i think these days so i have had my first tattoos and my nipple re pierced with more planned for the near future.  It all looks wicked. (in my view of course). :)

Oh just one other thing...  I had both my Video camera and my digital camera stolen not long ago!!!!  So i have lost alot of pictures which i am gutted about..  The camera/s i am not so concerned about its just the pictures really.  So there will be a big gap in the photo entries..  I have replaced the camera already so i will get some pics up soon from my last week or so but the video camera will not be replaced so no more discs coming home sorry mum and rosie.. :(

Anywho..  Hope you are all well and i shall speak to you all again soon.

Me. x

Ps...  I have booked my flights from OZ to South America (Santiago) for the 1st September and my flights back to the UK from Sao Paulo for the 9th Feb.. I plan to be in the UK for a month or so to catch up with you all but will be heading back to OZ to hopefully start my new life as a student with a long term goal to run my own councelling busisness..  I will keep you all posted on that one.
