Buenos Aires, oh what an interesting city.

On thursday I arrived to thunder, lighting and rain, rain, rain. Having come from England, where it is not exactly hot, this was not what I was hoping for.

Slightly worrying, on my way over, I got talking to a local guy on the plane followed by a couple from Chile and another from Holland who found it very funny and more than a little worrying that my grasp of Spanish was not what it perhaps should be. Of course I reassured them that it would all be fine, but nonetheless I decided to get the old phrase book out and start my homework.

My flight was kind of interesting, I found out the guy I met is also a photographer in his spare time, and he asked me if he I wanted to see some of his work The heavens open

. What I didnīt realise until he produced his laptop, was that that his prefered subject is glamour photography! So there we are in the middle of an airplane full of families, with a variety of women appearing on the screen wearing not a lot, to put it mildly.

I arrived at my hostel (Tango City) and made my way to my room, where I find 2 guys asleep on their bunks. OK, so this is my first time doing this, I figure maybe this is normal, even though it is about 1 in the afternoon, I did start to wonder though when I came back about 4 and they were still there. It would seem that they are kind of doing their South American tour in a serious of bleary eyed nights out.

The nightlife in BA is actually awesome. Of course, you land in a new place, what do you do? Do as the locals do, right. However, what this means is you donīt even consider going out until midnight, have a bite to eat if you want, but anything much before this and youīll be the only one in the restaurant! The hostel was quite a young place in terms of guests, and its a really big one, so you certainly canīt consider staying in. On my first night I went out with a mixed group of 1 American, 1 Kiwi, and 3 Israelis to a club which coincidentally was called Lost, this because it it took us ages to actually find The sun comes out

. Once there though it was a great night out, with surprise surprise, mostly U.S. music, and I arrived back at the hostel about 7am.

The second day bucketed it down even more than the first, so I got completely drenched as I wasnīt gonna sit inside a hostel all day as I come all this way, but this is quite depressing, especially seeing as my books still havenīt dried out 3 days later. Everybody was up for a big one that night as it was St. Paddyīs, the hostel got a people together from 3 different places so the bar was packed, but the city had also shut of three streets around where the Irish pubs were and we went along there as well, which was heaving.

Thankfully on Saturday the sun finally came out, and being the typical Brit, I managed to get myself completely burnt, and now look like a cherry, brilliant. It turns out BA is a beautiful place, once it stops raining. I have met a load of people already, including 2 triathletes staying in my room who are cycling all the way up through South America, Central America and North America in the next few months.

I have had a load of experiences and am learning a lot very fast indeed. I managed to lock my locker with the key inside and had to pretty much rip the thing open in order to get at it. Oh, and I have been robbed of 300 pounds already, well more conned out of it. Iīm not hurt, aside from my pride and bank balance, but this is turning into a trip full of more experiences than I was expecting, thatīs for sure.
