Charlotteville is a sleepy little fishing village and about as rural as it gets.  We had no idea how much game fish was here until we got down to the fishermen's co-op and saw it all:  lots of kingfish, dolphin (mahi mahi) grouper, back and yellow fin tuna.  It is not unusual to see blue and white marlin, sailfish, spearfish and wahoo too.

We bought an eight pound black fin tuna and Paul made us some of the best tuna carpaccio and the freshest sashimi yet!  We also see tons of georgies and bought about four pounds of red snapper too..and all of this for about $12 TT per pound (about two dollars).

In the meanwhile, the lady living behind our little place died and we got to experience a traditional Tobagonian wake and funeral preparations.  Once the beer was on ice, the curries were made and the tarp was up, that meant no sleep for us!  We have never heard so much chanting, singing, clapping and drumming in our lives...quite a send off for the old doll!

We are settling in to life in the rural Caribbean and are praying for some more sun soon.
