So check out our longest travel day yet...here is what it looked like...

5:30 up and at it
6:15 to the bus to leave San Juan del Sur Nicaragua
6.30 the bus leaves for Rivas
7.30 the bus arrives in Rivas and we switch to a bus to the border with CR
8:15 the bus arrives at the border and we clear customs and immigration
9:15 we board a pullman bus for Liberia
10:30 the bus arrives in Liberia where the locals discuss the fact that
(a) we cant get to Monteverde from there
(b) we need to continue to Puntarenas
(c) we need to go to Tilaran and switch buses
(d) we need to go to Canas and switch buses
(e) we need to go to Lagarto and switch buses
11:30 we boarded a bus bound for Puntarenas with the plan to get off in Canas
12:45 we arrived in Canas after over an hour standing the whole way, with a plan to go to Tilaran at 1:30...after discussions with locals about going to Tilaran or Las Jun or Lagarto we dicided to go to Las Juntas
2:20 we boarded a bus to Las Juntas
3:20 we arrived in Las Juntas having missed the 3:15 to Monteverde because we needed to stop for gas
5:00 we boarded the 4:45 bus from Las Juntas to Monteverde
7:30 we finally arrived in Santa Elena!!!!

What a day!
