Set deep in the belly of an ancient crater is a gorgeous lake. 20,000 years ago the regionīs largest volcano erupted leaving a huge freshwater reservoir. It was named Apoyo by the indigenous people and is believed to have special healing powers.

It is also the habitat for hundreds of species of plants and animals and we are enjoying our time by the water.

Not much new...we are simply spending a day relaxing at The Monkey Hut, a place on Laguna de Apoyo, mostly just lounging in an inner tube...itīs a nice change of pace from Granada.
