Hey everyone!

We have arrived in Singapore safe and sound (after some 24 hours in the air
and another 12 on the ground in airports...)

Actually the flight was one of the better long ones we have experienced. Paul did a superb job of getting our seat assignments so we always had a bulkhead or an
aisle. On the Detroit-Tokyo leg, we had tons of room (three empty seats) and
from Tokyo to Singapore we had a whole middle aisle to ourselves. Of course, it also helped that the Sapporo, Asahi, Tsing Tsao and Tiger were flowing freely...

We can sure see why Changi is consistently ranked the best airport in the
world! Here we are, having just arrived at close to 2:00 a.m. and we are enjoying a latte while we update this log, sitting very near poolside in a "rooftop"
cactus garden with free internet access!!!!

Not much to report since we are here at the airport until the MRT opens at 6 a.m. or so, at which point we'll explore the city and fill you in.

We're thrilled to be here to start the adventure. Please know (mom and Sue) that we've arrived safe and sound and we'll update as often as we can.
