We woke up early and used the breakfast packs provided by the hotel - convenient but not very exciting. We walked up to the Town Hall and got onto the hop on, hop off double decker on the Bondi loop ($20). It was a dull day, but the rain stopped before we reached Bondi. We left the bus in the centre of the promenade and walked along the beach. We saw lots of surfers and also lifeguards practicing. The sun came out while we were there.
After a cup of coffee we reboarded the bus, this time enjoying the sun from the open top deck and set off back to Sydney. We transferred to the Sydney city loop and had a great view from the upper deck. We went round most of the loop then got off by the Opera House and Botanical Gardens, where we took lots more photos.
Back on the bus, we went to Darling Harbour and walked around in the sun. We visited the Chinese Gardens where it was very quiet and peaceful. Some visitors had hired Chinese costumes and looked very colourful.
We took the bus back to the Town Hall and walked the short distance back to the hotel, arriving there at 5:30. We both fell asleep for an hour, then went to a Thai Express for dinner, which was quite reasonable ($40 with wine).
When we returned to the hotel we went up to the roof garden on the 45th floor to see the lights of the city, then to bed at 10:30.
