July 8th - The second Day....KRP in Cincinnati

So we had a great second day of successful riding. We made it from Clarksburg, WV to Cincinnati, OH. We were able to get on the road around 7:30 AM and arrived at 2:30 PM, putting over 260 miles on the bikes. Great weather and easy roads made it a very relaxed day of riding. Route 50 is mainly a divided highway in this stretch so it made it easy to sit back and relax and kick up on the highway pegs.
Our first main stop was for breakfast and we decided to honor our friend Chris Cutlip by stopping in Athens, OH - home of Ohio University. The last time I was there was during our college days, and, well, needless to say it was not the healthiest of times as far as the liver and chemicals went......but I digress
Breakfast was enjoyed at the Cross Street Diner in downtown Athens. We had a brief tour through town and got back onto 50 to continue on towards Cincinnati. Heather came through with some great video shots - the last one from Indian Hill Road which is only 5-10 miles from where Kurt lives. If this stretch of road doesn't force you into a motorcycle purchase, I do not know what will....
Kurt and Jen (and Della and Sampson) played hosts for our stay in Cinci - we had an ungodly amount of ribs for dinner followed by more ribs and other delicious sides (Mac & cheese, etc.). And, as you know, when in the company of pure genius (Kurt Bonigut), you need only to sit back and listen to his vision. This normally includes bouts of pure psychosis, rage, peace, and, eventually, focused chaos. We were not disappointed. I was able to take both Kurt and Jen for quick ride on the bike. I have a weight and height limit for a rider now - it is 265 lbs and 7'-18". Too much man for the back of the bike, although I think I got my front wheel off the ground shifting from first to second with Kurt on the back.
We are onto St. Louis in the morning.....

Let's take a snapshot of Hooter's from the outside, but not go in and check at some sweater puppies, odd. That could have really turned this PG blog into an XXX sprayfest.

what's with this PG rated blog? its reads as like a 'dear-diary' of a 12 year old girl who got her period for the first time. I want intrigue, drug abuse and generally unacceptable displays public behavior. You seem boring.

Looks Great! (reply) Jul 9, 2007 09:35 EST by frankzam
Looks like you guy's are having a blast. I sent the link to Karen's email address and I'm getting ready to call her and let her know. I wish I worked for AT&T so I could spend more time looking at this trip. Keep safe and be careful in East St. Louis! We'll make a point to be the site nightly.
