Nothing grates me more than hearing the newest catchy exclamation used for a rather in-the-ordinary experience. But I think that tonight may end up lending itself to a little "Seriously? Seriously!?!"
Our teary goodbye (even the sky started crying) was followed by the arrival of a limo-bus that whisked us off to the airport where we arrived in record time and skated through security making it to the gate with plenty of time to spare.
Kids mostly well behaved – check. All of our belonging accounted for and in their Brian-assigned proper places – check (with the exception of the missing binkie that took less than an hour to lose). Feelings that have melted from anxiety to excitement at the sight of the airport jumping water fountain – check.
Once we got on board, we were happy to see the in-flight movie screens, and think about the snacks we were about to be served. Eyes were getting droopy and Brian and I exchanged a smile that said yeah, we're good! Or at least so far so good.
After an hour on board we were told of a problem with our Airbus—the pressurization and a/c unit is in need of repair. We just jumped off the plane and are headed to the next gate as we await a midnight departure – two hours later than originally planned. Alexander—a picture of good behavior so far-- is determined to stay awake for take-off and shows no sign of sleep.
To be continued ….
