We left Koh Tao on Tuesday, February 9th. We took the boat- Seatran to Koh Phangan, and headed to the Northwest side of the island to Haad Yao. Our place we stayed at from Tuesday, February 9th and checked out on Saturday, February 13 was called Haad Yao Villas.

On the 9th, we took a long walk up to where there were other hotels/guesthouses. We then relaxed and hung out at our place.

Wednesday we did nothing but lay around on the beach. Well.... we did some snorkelling and swimming- but not much else!

Thursday (the 11th) we went on a snorkelling trip with a longtail boat (we are getting good use of our snorkels!). It first went to Haad Salad. We saw a cool big leopard fish, but the water was kind of murky. Next stop was Koh Ma. Again, quite murky. Then to Haad Khom. Lots of parrotfish and some other schools of fish- better clarity too. Had lunch at Haad Khuat (Bottle Beach). We couldn't go to Thaan Sadet Waterfall (which is over on the other side of the island), because it was too windy, and the waves were too big- so not safe.  Instead, we went back to Koh Ma, checked out the beach a bit, and then back to our beach- Haad Yao. It was a nice day- good to see some other beaches on the island- glad we are staying where we are!

Friday the 12th we rented a scooter- Hello Kitty Scooter!  ha ha....made it easy to locate in a line of scooters! We drove down to Baan Tai- where we got a flat tire. We needed to also replace the whole tire (not just the tube). He was going to charge us 600Baht ($20), but then said he had a used tire he could use, and only charge 230Baht. The used tire said "Front use only" but he was putting it on the back tire!  ha ha...he said it was fine. But he also said- don't tell when you return scooter! ha ha!  Drove down to Haad Rin, checked out a few places to stay for tomorrow night and saw the beaches. Then drove all through the interior of the island up to Chaloklum (it did not take nearly as long as we thought it would- less than an 1 hour to get to the other end of the island!). We stopped at the Chinese Temple on our way. Not many people there....considering Chinese New Year starts tomorrow (the 13th). We then stopped at Haad Salad for some swimming and snorkelling- but it was too late in the day, and the tide was too low- so we didn't stay out too long. Returned the bike....the lady didn't even look at the bike- so we didn't mention anything either!  She did say- you only pay if it is broken.... It wasn't broken- there was a tire on it!!

Saturday (today), we checked out of Haad Yao Villas, took a taxi down to Haad Rin Nok (Sunrise Beach), and have checked in at The Rock.

Tomorrow we are taking a boat to Haad Yuan, and hoping to be able to get accomodations there (can be hard during High Season, as there are only a couple places at this beach). But we have to check out our friend Rob's Happy Place!!!

That's all for now! We are loving the sun and beaches!

I really enjoyed this blog and all of the pictures. You will
need to put them on a DVD and have a family show night.
