We left San Francisco to visit Yosemite. I think we drove for about 5 hours to be told the main road to the park was closed by fire and had to take the long top road to the lake. It was very beautiful but left us very disappointed that we couldn’t get down to see the waterfalls.
Arrived in a very lively San Jose on a Saturday night but left early the next day for Half Moon Bay. No rain yet since I became Mrs Smith but we did think it was going to rain that day. It was very dark and cloudy but brightened up as we moved down the coast. We have then stoped in Pismo beach, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and now LA.
We have seen so many seals and seal lions up close. They just lie on the beach and look like I feel when I have eaten an Indian meal and can’t move off the setee
The most entertaining wildlife we have seen are the pelicans. They dive bomb head first in to the water at such a pace I don’t know how they don’t have a constant headache and they never really seem to catch anything. Very amusing to watch continuosly from my beach towel. (it’s a hard life....)
Now seeing the amazing sights of LA. The men in clothes that make me think of my boss on his stag do (see man attached on venice beach in very little pants), the 60 year old Barbie dolls out running so slow to make sure everybody sees her and her newly pumped lips, the people our running with their dogs that are smaller then my cat (maybe Molly could do some running with me!!!) and people carrying the essential LA accessory, a yoga mat.
We have been to Beverley Hills so Steve could see the policy station from Beverley Hills cop. We also saw the hotel from Pretty Women but as Steve hasn’t seen the film my excitement was wasted on him.
We went to the Chinese theatre to see the newest hand print addition that belongs to Hugh Jackman. My favoutire is still Matylin Monroe who placed her earing in the cement and you can see where people have tried to pick it out. We also went to Universal but I was disapotined not to get to go up Wisteria Lane this time. They are filiming the new episode so the set is closed to filiming. I think Steve was secretly disappointed but didn’t let on.
We have met some interesting people on our trip, the best so far is two brothers from Melbourne who had been to Vegas as a result of watching the Hangover. We had two great nights out and now have a place to stay in Melbourne as wells as a list of places to visit in Vegas.
Canyon tomorrow and Vegas on Wednesday, very excited. Up yu soon
