Relaxing at the beach

It seemed to take forever to get out of Ecuador and we even had to fight off little old ladies who were determined to push in front of us! We then had a 'lovely' lunch stop right next to a big rubbish tip, which smelt terrible and there were also lots of mangy dogs about! Getting into Peru was easy, which was quite surprising, and after several hours driving we arrived at Mancora, a smallish beach town. Our campsite was pretty good with some very comfy hammocks and we had a great BBQ for dinner one night. Some of us decided not to pitch our tents, as there wasn't really enough room for everyone, so I slept on the balcony, which was very nice.
As we were at the beach I decided to try surfing and took a lesson with an ex professional. I wasn't very good but eventually (with some help) I did manage to stand up a couple of times for a few seconds. It was certainly great fun although I ached all over the next day!! More thumbnails ...
