We had a short day and left early because of the heat. Together, those factors allowed us to show up in town around noon. Getting in early has a lot of benefits.

First, we were able to have hot dogs and other grill food at the "famous" Heid's Hot Dogs in Liverpool. I had a philly cheese steak that was alright. It certainly wasn't anything special.

Second, I had time to give my bike a good clean. I don't do this as often as I should, but I still do it quite often. I probably average a bike cleaning once a week and a chain cleaning twice a week... both are quite thorough.

Third, I took a nap. Taking a nap feels great after these bike rides. Usually I don't have the time, but when I do, I feel so much more refreshed for the rest of the day. It was a short nap, about 20 minutes. I was listening to last year's Beach House album since dad was taking care of business on the phone. It's a perfect album for napping.

Fourth, I did some challenging yoga. It has been a long, long time since we have had the time to do yoga and I am very thankful I got to stretch out today. Pam does an awesome job leading it and we do different stretches every time. We did a whole hour with some difficult core work at the end.

Fifth, we got in so early I didn't have any ice cream with lunch. This freed up my daily ice cream allowances for dinner. I had the "Ice Cream Treasure" for dessert and I had to recruit Team Collins to help me finish it. This monstrosity was easily over 1000 calories. It was chocolate, and ice cream, and cookies, and fudge, and caramel in a pile of decadence the size of a treasure chest.

And for the record, I'm ready to be done with this trip. We're over 90% done by distance and I'm trying not to wish away the last 10 percent. It has been a very long trip and it doesn't quite feel like vacation anymore.

Sorry, none of it has seemed like "vacation" to me. BUT Stormy does! Sarah and I are more than ready to have you all home. What's the vote for the welcome home dinner?

You are nearly finished. Hang in there, Stephen. If you are "over it"... think about how Scotty must feel. I am so thankful you three have had this trip of a lifetime together. You will begin to appreciate it even more fully when you are a father of kids inching their way to independence. You have made your dad very happy, for sure. A few more days of grime, heat, pollution and it is HELLO ATLANTIC OCEAN- ! Much love and continued prayers.
