The flight here was long, and I didn't sleep much, but that's in the past already
I get the feeling that General Assembly is going to be sweet this year. I've met a lot of really nice people already, who are here early to help pull things together for the conference that starts Friday, with over 700 people from as many as 99 different countries. I've explained about a million times what I'm doing, because I don't fill any of the traditional YFC roles. (Basically everything I said in that AIM conversation a few posts ago, I've been telling everyone here.) I'll be working with the operations crew during the conference to help with video, sound and lights. I've been spending some time with Jon and Byron, the main tech guys here. I'm bunking in a room with 6 beds, 1 bathroom, and barely enough space for anything else, but I think it'll be fine. There are already some guys here in my room from a small city on the west coast of South Africa. I think they're moving out soon though, and the guys from Thailand are going to move in.
P.S. - The operations and logistics manager down here graduated from Worthington Christian and grew up in Galena... it really is a small, small world.
