Although we had a great time in our first cruise in 2005 we had many places on our to-do-list and we didn't consider repeating anytime soon. But personal circumstances and the opportunity of taking a vacation together with my not so young parents made us consider another cruise as a great option.
With just 30 days in advance and a complicated agenda to work with, we ended booking with Royal Caribbean: The ship the Explorer of the Seas, and the trip a 12 nights Eastern Caribbean.
Although I rather booking through internet (price is the same on the Cruise site or the big travel web sites) this time I had to call because we wanted adjacent staterooms. Turned out a great experience and we took advantage of booking both staterooms under my parent's, thus benefiting from the senior rate.
Although we already knew most of the islands, most of the planning was done through www.cruisecritic.com.
Embarkation: A loooooooong line. Leaving from Port Liberty made a short cab ride from our apartment and we were there around 12.30 just to find a huge line. Later we found out that we were over 3,200 passengers (about 1,500 Brits, 1,200 Americans, and the rest Canadians and Europeans. It took about 90'.
