Fairly hassle free day today so far. Got up early to catch the courtesy taxi back to the airport, checked the luggage in which had mysteriously increased in weight overnight so now I was over the 32kg limit for each even though I was lifting the end of one surreptiously with my foot when the check-in girl read the weight. Had a slight moment when someone weighed my carryon bag and found it was about 10kg over the limit. The guy said 'this is over the limit'. I said 'yes it is'. Then he left and that was that. Huh? Oh well.
Had a good flight down to Punta Arenas with a brief stop at Puerto Mont. The Andes on the left looked amazing and the Lakes district of Chile also looked brilliant with all the volcanos, lakes, etc. Will definitely be travelling back there for holidays!
Spent an hour or two at Punta Arenas airport - then boarded plane again for the last sector, next stop Mount Pleasant airport in the Falkands! More thumbnails ...
