I woke in the morning to see a family of deer eating giant seedpods (longer than my foot) that fell on and around Rover during the windy night. The mom deer chewed through them easily, but her two fawns were comical trying to chew through the tough skins, looked like they were chewing on cigars.
We saw petroglyphs, hiked out to a huge natural bridge, and drove the scenic drive and beyond, where it turned to dirt and got very narrow with tall, steep canyon walls on both sides. Some of the dirt roads had spots that were washed-out from the previous rains. Rain seems to do a lot more damage in deserty areas than at home where it rains a lot.
