We spent a week in Loveland with friends that used to live in Eureka. We walked to Boyd Lake near their house, the fall colors were gorgeous. Millions of kamikaze grasshoppers jumped onto the path, not sure what their intent was, but they made me stumble more than a few times as I tried to avoid stepping on them.

The lovely Lily posed with all the sculptures in the Benson Sculpture Garden for me. It's beautiful with all different styles of brass sculptures around a little lake in the middle of town.

They drove us up to Rocky Mountain National Park, we stopped for a picnic lunch just as the clouds got darker and it started to snow with thunder and lightning. We marveled at the snow for a while and ate lunch in the car, then headed home before they closed the road, it was exciting. We got a little glimpse of the winter we'll miss by going south. Also drove through Estes Park and saw the spooky Stanley Hotel where Jack Nicholson lost his mind in the movie The Shining.

We were there for Canadian Thanksgiving, thankful we were able to have a full kitchen to help cook copious amounts of tastey, comfort foods and have friends to share with, and a warm cozy home to enjoy it all in (there was a torrential downpour that day, thankful we weren't camping).

Later when the weather cleared, we installed a couple vents in Rover's pop top, so condensation doesn't collect on the inside of the tent while we sleep... it's surprising how much we exhale. The new vents provide much needed ventilation, which will be especially helpful when we get to the tropics.
