Our epic journey has begun... actually we left home over 2 weeks ago with a grand send-off from Kelly and Dana's house (thanks guys!).

First stop was a visit to Tyler and Liz's house, they helped us prepare the Rover's security system (removable bars on the windows so we can leave it parked and go for a hike without worrying about break-ins), attach the new bumper and winch and introduced us to potato tacos. Thanks Tyler and Liz and Rubin and Suzi for all your love and help!!!

Now we're at the Hamstra family reunion at Otter Lake. It is amazing, we are fully engaged in relaxing and letting go of the chaos of the past few weeks/months of preparing for this trip. Reconnecting with family that I haven't seen for 5 years... many that Steve has never met (he's doing a great job with names - all that practice from memorizing names at 321 Coffee). SO GREAT to see everyone again, playing games, eating good food, chatting, laughing.

Everyone is eager to start "living vicariously" through this blog, so I guess it's time to start.

Awesome to hear of your journeys commencement. So sad to have missed the going away party but it just wasn't possible. Thanks for the blog. I'll be checking it diligently. Oh, and just so you feel extra good today, know that I have to go to work, and you don't. Hugs n purrs.
