It was only about 1/2 hr. boat ride from our place. When we left our house it looked like it was going to rain and we were a little bummed about the weather, etc. Fortunately, the water was clear anyway and the skies cleared up pretty quickly too. It ended up being a gorgeous day.
On the way to the reefs, we did some fishing. Stace THINKS he had a big one. Gregorio says that some fish go under the coral to snap the line and get away. Check out the video it is pretty funny.
Gregorio tied us to a buoy and we jumped jumped in the water in the middle of some coral reefs. Brody wasn't loving the breathing tubes, so I waited with him until he was ready
Brody and I took a break. The girls LOVED it. They were so excited about everything they saw...colorful fish, coral, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, plants, etc. Eventually, Brody tried again with Stace. He didn't use the mask but loved seeing the fish.
After a few hours of snorkeling we ate at an over-the-water restaurant for lunch. There were tons of fish right there next to us while we waited for our food. It was pretty fun for the kids.
The bathrooms at these over-the-water restaurants are pretty funny. Check out the pic of Brody using them.
We also had to stop and get gas. What a crazy experience. It is a 4 step process. Gas goes from a 55 gal drum...to a bucket...individual 1 gallon water bottles...then to our gas tank. That way the customer KNOWS they are getting the right amount of gas. Check out the pics.
Another fun day.
