We arrive in Cancun without a hostel reservation, so we take the bus to the center of town with guide book in hand and start to check out hostels. After looking at a hostel that had about 25 people in a room, not thanks, we end up staying a the Weary Traveller, quite appropriate as we have been up since before 5am. The room we get has a double bed, taken by someone still passed out from New Years Eve partying, and bunk beds, those would be ours. The room also has a private bath and the biggest fan I have ever seen on the ceiling. It looks like someone stoll the prop from a B2 bomber and slapped a screen on it to call it a fan. It actually makes me nervous as if it comes down you cannot get out of its way. Sort of like that bald guy in the Indiana Jones movie. You other movie dorks will get the reference. The fan is there because there is no AC and its 86 degrees outside at 5pm!Room check!
Now for some food
With full stomachs we head head down the road and come across a festival in a small aquare. We grab some choros for desert and wander around looking at the local crafts. With a quick stop for some water and some pesos we head back to the hostel. To our suprise our passed out friend is still passed out in his bed. Maybe we should check to see if he is alive. We turn on the turbo prop, hop in our bunks and head off to sleep. Within 5 minutes I am up and headed down to the front desks for my complimentary ear plugs as I am not used to sleeping next to a plane. With the sound down to 80 decibels I am able to drift off to sleep.

Now for some food
The Weary Traveller
. We head down the street where some noise is coming from and it appears to be a bit of a restaurant row. We pass on multiple food shops when Kay catches a glimpse of a street vendor down the alley with a lot of people around it. She says are you up for and I say sure! We get in line and order 4 tacos and some local sodas. In a matter of seconds we have 2 plates with carnitas, beef, and pollo tacos. We grab a seat at the end of the curb and start to eat. Its quite a funny site as we are the only gringos eating at this fine alley establishement. I wonder why? Actually the food is very good and if I didnt control myself I would have eaten 4 more. With full stomachs we head head down the road and come across a festival in a small aquare.
