Apparently the falls were at an all-time high last weekend. Certainly the torrential rain must have helped matters. Water seemed to be coming from all angles - it was impossible to stay dry. But when I first set eyes on them, I actually screamed, they were so loud and forceful. They really did take my breath away.

I spent the three days at Iguassu (too long) with a Spanish guy called Cesar, which was great for my Spanish, not so great for his sanity. And for two nights we barely slept thanks to the antics of the freaks we were sharing a room with, and the 50 unaccompanied school kids staying at our hostel, who decided to keep us awake by donning Halloween masks, shouting and running round putting all the lights on. It was like Lord of the Flies gone wrong. And when I moved rooms, I realised I'd had my sleeping bag nicked, as well as my toiletries. Bastards! I'm trying not to let the experience detract from the awesomeness of the falls. Especially because when we walked on the Brazilian side the sun came out and made a rainbow that stretched from one end of the river to the other.
