Where I stayed
Since my last blog entry we toured the capital city of San Jose and then this past weekend we spent in Tamarindo, a small coastal village about 5 hours from the capital.
Tour of San Jose- Wednesday morning on our tour of San Jose we saw the National Theatre, National Museum, and the downtown district of the city. Most of our time was spent on the bus as our tour guide told us all the tourist facts, but we also had the chance to walk through the theatre and museum. The theatre was pretty lavishly decorated on the inside. We also drove past the giant soccer stadium that is being built in San Jose by the Chinese government.
Tamarindo- Thursday afternoon our group was picked up by a charter bus and driven to Tamarindo, a coastal city that is a fairly popular tourist attraction
Next to our hotel in San Jose is a Chocolateria. You can probably guess what type of store that is. Ha. I didn't know that it was possible to play a game of chess and eat the pieces.
The native people of Costa Rica have a distinct way of approaching life which is reflected in their favorite saying, "Pura Vida". Literally it means "Pure Life" but the Ticos (Costa Ricans) have adopted it as almost a national motto meaning to live life to the fullest right now.
