Pouring rain. Lightning & thunder. More rain. This is, after all, England! But I'm not used to the rain, or the cold for that matter. I suppose it is a good transition though, since I am probably in for some snow in the near future! There have been a few bright, sunny days though, and maybe the rain makes you appreciate those days a bit more.

So between the boughts of rain (or during, at some points!) we have explored local coffee shops, checked out the High Street, experimented with new recipes in the kitchen, fed the birds along the river, met some of the locals, visited a castle...a very chilled out week of catching up with friends, and catching up on sleep! In preparation for the next step, which is....

On Saturday I will be making my return to Canada! For real this time, I am actually going to get on the plane this time I promise. So after 13 months, 7 days, and about 2 hours, my trip will be coming to an end! You have to go home sometime, so they say. I am still a bit in shock, but excited at the same time. There are many things I am looking forward to (besides seeing my friends and family of course). Sleeping in my own bed, being able to drive wherever I want, seeing my kitties, cooking whatever foods I like, eating at favourite restaurants, having a complete wardrobe to choose from, pedicures!! And many many others as well.

This will mean that I have to return to the world of the employed, which of course I am dreading. Part of me is a little bit excited about having some routine, but most of me is totally freaked out about it. 18 months is a long time to be footloose and fancy free! I am very appreciative of the time I have had though, and maybe dreams of Spanish men & beaches will sustain me through the cold winter...

For those of you in Canada, specifically Calgary this week, get ready, here I come! See you soon...
