The bus ride back to Rome was pretty quiet, as most people were sleeping. 3 hours later we arrived back in Rome, where some quick goodbyes were said to people who had to catch flights. Sadly most of the Spanish were catching flights later that night, and didn't have much time to sightsee. So, we did a speed version walking tour of Rome! Map in hand, 8 Spanish and 4 Anglos set out, in about 2.5 hours we managed to see th Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Via Condotti, St. Peter's Basilica and Piazza Navona. It started to rain along the way, but since it was so hot it was refreshing. And it scared off a lot of people, so the streets really emptied for a Saturday afternoon in July in Rome.

After saying goodbye to most of the Spanish, we joined up with a bunch of the Anglos and headed for dinner. This time the group was 13, 3 Spanish and 10 Anglos so the tables were turned. Everyone was exhausted though and Airlia and I headed back to our room for an early night. We had cranked up the air con before we left, so arriving back in our room was like the Arctic - blissfully cool, almost orgasmic ;) Two girls alone, of course we had to gossip all about our week in Italy, but soon drifted off to sleep.
