I can't believe how fast time is flying by, and were I not staying in Spain, I would be flying back to Canada tomorrow! Thursday I went in to the Pueblo Ingles office (I am becoming a regular fixture I fear) and I just have to give a huge mention to the girls in the office there, who have been terrific help through this whole ordeal. But a major thank you to Cheryl, who was the one who suggested me for my job, and who has been a great help in sorting out my documentation theft issues. Not to mention inviting me to Italy, but we will get to that later :) And a big thanks to Brian, who copied all of his pictures from the week at La Alberca for me, since most of mine were still on my camera when it was stolen. So if you are looking through La Alberca pics, they are mostly his, some of mine, and a few various other generous sources as well! Thanks to all.

While at the office I ran in to 2 participants from my first program, Shirley and John. They were setting off on their next program, but saldy Shirley without any luggage! The airline lost it along the way, what a nightmare. Hopefully it turned up soon.

Friday I met up with Susan, who was in Madrid for the weekend before jetting off to Milan for work. We wandered for a bit before settling in to Chueca for some sangria, and chatting the afternoon away. A lovely way to spend a Friday afternoon! Later I met up with Alex, who had returned from her second program, this time at Valdalavilla. We compare notes on each of our 2 programs, the different facilities, and the latest gossip. It reminded me how much I miss having my girlfriends around :) Alex is now at the end of her trip, she is off to visit friends for the weekend in Sevilla, and then begins her long journey home to Australia. At this point it is unsure how long that will take, fingers crossed she gets a flight out of Bangkok soon!

Sunday I went to Al Cala de Henares, which is on the outskirts of Madrid. This where David lives, and he invited me out to have lunch with his family. I had a great time, his parents don't speak English and my Spanish is still terrible (though improving!) and so there were lots of gestures and David interpreting for everyone. His parents are lovely, and we had a great lunch. I also met his brother and girlfriend, and we managed to fit in a walking tour of the centre of town. It is beautiful, gorgeous old buildings, and so many convents you practically trip over them! Sadly I didn't have a camera at that stage, so I will need to go back again :)
