I'm in Rome! Hooray!! I've wanted to come for as long as I can remember. This is my third day here so far, the first day I arrived in the afternoon, found my hostel, and then just wandered around a bit. Yesterday was pamper-Jacqui day! I got waxed, plucked, polished, dyed, trimmed...or scalped depending on how you look at it. Over 4 inches she cut off my hair! I guess I am definitely not growing it out now.

I figured after all that work, I better go out on the town.(L& J: get all gussied up and head on down to the the-atre...) So, when in Rome...I managed to score myself a box seat at the Teatro dell'Opera, the Rome opera house. It was fantastic! I have never sat in an opera box before, you have to be let in by an usher, and you go through this big wooden door and then through a red velvet curtain. There are about a million crystal chandeliers, and this huge fresco on the ceiling. Looking up at the rows of boxes, strangely it reminded me of the muppets Statler and Waldorf the old guys sitting up in the balcony! Anyway, it was beautiful, and the orchestra was wonderful. The opera istelf was not the best I have ever seen, but it was a great experience.

Today the plans are to do some sightseeing, the Trevi fountain, Colloseum, Forum etc. Tomorrow I am going to the Vatican! I can hardly wait. The only downside is that there is a trillion people in there at any given time, which is too bad. I don't care though. I have been waiting 10 years to see this, finally I am here! Woohoo!
