Sorry this entry is a little late. I've been pretty busy, mostly with trying to get my residency permit. The immigration office doesn't make it easy for you, that's for sure! Hopefully they don't kick me out!!!

Slovenia is a beautiful country! I wasn't going to go on the trip at first but I changed my mind because it was great deal for everything that was in included. The first day we left Budapest bright and early at 6am to arrive in the capital city of Ljubjana. I asked at least four different people how to pronounce it and for some reason I still can't's something like Lub-whena, it think! Anyways, the city was cool. The hostel we stayed in was unfortunately a 45 minute walk to the city center. We did a lot of walking back and forth, but we got to see some more of the city that way and I got to say hello to some blisters again! My favorite part of Ljubjana was the castle on the hill. They had just finished renovating/rehabilitating it earlier this year in May. They did a very nice job of keeping the old but making it modern at the same time. The castle also had the best views of the city, the surrounding hills and mountains. I took lots of pictures so check them out!!

Our next stop was a small town called Bled that is located in the Julian Alps. This was my favorite stop on the whole trip because it was so beautiful. The town is situated around a lake with a small island in the middle with a church and a medieval castle on the hill. They let us loose here to explore so a few friends and I decided to hike up the 'less traveled' trail to the castle. What a great decision! I've already said it twice before but I got to say it again, it was beautiful. We found a rock ledge near the base of the castle that had the best views you could get. Again, you'll have to check out my pictures!

Our last stop was in Maribor. There's not much to say, just your typical old town with some new and some old. Well I got to get going, the Hungarian Craft Beer Festival is patiently waiting for me!
