This morning I said goodbye to AnneMarie. It was raining and chilly. She was shocked that we hugged her and gave us a bag of fruit for our long journey. It is so nice to not have to take 2 buses to get downtown. All week we have been taking taxies, buses, and trains for hours a day. Getting anywhere on time is a hassle. I miss my van!!!
Today is our first day of rest from work!! It has been non stop touring of plants since we got here. It is our first tourist day and we enjoyed it! We toured the town of Heidelberg, Germany. We got to go on a tour of the castle and shop downtown for a few hours. The castle is awesome. I've never seen anything that old. check out the pictures below. It was sad to look at the ruins and see the devestation from the war.
We traveld another 2 hours by bus to France. We are staying at a Chatuae, which is a small old castle. The place is ancient and I'll write more about it later. It is coed and there is only 2 showers for the whole floor, and 1 toilet! So it is definately not cushy. This time my roommate is Holly. We had the most horrible food. Itis free, so we'll keep showing up. cold rice and tuna, noodles with milk, and chocoalte cake. it is a small pub, and people had their dogs sitting on the chairs adn were chain smoking. Pugnet fish smells and smoke filled the air and chases us out. Tomorrow we are going to try and find a store to get something to eat. The water had particles floating in it too. German food was much better! Here it is 4 something for 1 glass of pop, so sticking with the floating junk water....
