new to me are the feelings that I am now experiencing. I remember last
night leaving the Hostel in Prague, in a city that I have become very
familiar with, what was at first a sense of fear. Fear of going to
someplace new and on my own. But, just minutes later, before getting on
the tram to the rail station fear and doubt turn into excitement and
adventure. I was on my way to yet another new adventure.
Boarding the train, found an unoccupied cabin, locked my backpack and
shoulder bag to the overhead rack, waited for the conductor to come by
to stamp my ticket, then laid across the seats to read before falling
asleep. Around the the halfway point, I was awaken by another
conductor. She looked at the ticket and said, "no Krakow", and then
left. I got up a put my things together as it dawned on me, that
I would need to move up towards the front of the train, the part of the
train that was going all the way through to Krakow. As I left the cabin
another conductor signaled to me that I needed to move up 5 cars.
Disaster, or at least an interesting unplanned adventure, avoided. How
would of been waking up somewhere around the Polish boarder on a train car with no engine!
Anyway after a nap, I went out for some initial exploring, getting to understand the trams, finding the old town, etc.
wanna blend in like a local in Poland. Park your car on a
sidewalk as far off the street as possible! It is so unlike Prague,
where parking tickets are written on parked cars for any reason, even
reasons I could not figure out.
One thing for sure, my head is surely about to
unscrew itself off, Damn, these Polish women are put together very nicely. Talk about neck whiplash!
Time for dinner.
