I am in Prague, the City of Spires! I was here a year ago, so it was nice to be in a city that  I had been to before
and knew my way around to some degree. I am staying at a great hostel,
the Prague Plus Hostel, lets see,  a fully loaded kitchen to cook
you own meals, free internet, breakfast, sauna which is great for
my sore knees, and a swimming pool that you can swim laps
in. All for about $20 per day.

  On our way to
Prague, we stoped at Terezin, a fortress that the Nazies used as a
prision camp. In fact it was the camp that the Nazies brought outsiders
into to show how well they were treating the Jews, dispite there
railing through  Jews further east to other concentration
camps. One prisioner at this prision prior to Nazi
occupation, was the man who assasinated Franz Ferdinand d Estes,
starting WW1. After the war the, the Prision commander W
Schmidt was imprisioned there and executed.

first day in Prague, I spent learning the transit system. During my
tram excusion, a group of womenfrom my hostel, wearing skimpy
haltersand the shortest of shorts, I mean lots of legs, obviouly
tourist. They had every males attention, including a plainclothes tram
official who also noticed they had not stamped there tram tickets. In
other words traveling without paying. To make the story short, they
were to either pay a 500 Cz($25) fine on the spot or 1000-7000 CZ fine
at the police station. Additionaly, several of the girls had no ID's or
passports. They were taken off the tram esscorted back to the hostel.
total damage 1500Cz($75)

Buy the way I was seated about 4 seats away and not asked for my ticket. And yes, I do stamp my tickets, always.

   Today, I will be
contacting Chuck a friend of mine to check with him to see if I will be
heading to see him in northern Italy on the 3rd of July.
