Day 48 (July 26th): Our bus ride from Salta, Argentina to Calama, Chile took in some stunning landscape scenery.
We drove from an altitute of 400m above sea level (Salta) to an altitude of over 4000m in the Atacoma Desert.
Unfortunately, Andrea developed mild altitude sickness and ended up vomiting, so Fraser took most of the photos along the way.
At our stopover in Calama bus station for a few hours, we met a nice couple from Buenos Aires, who gave Andrea some drugs to help her feel better. Fraser ended up chatting to the man (in Spanish!) about rugby, accounting, etc. There was also a nice Peruvian lady, who offered her blanket to Andrea, so Andrea could take a nap until the next bus trip.
