Day 21 - 23 (28th - 30th June): Next stop on our trip was to view the Iguazu Falls. We stayed at a nearby town Puerto Iguazu, a small sleepy town that seems to revolve around the falls that are 30 minutes away.
As we walked around the sound of the water was ever present, as was the mist from the falls (our raincoats defintely came in handy!)
On our last day, we woke up early to watch the rugby (@ 7am). Luckily we had ESPN in our room, so we could set the alarm and watch from the comfort of our bed. For those that follow rugby, youŽll know that the All Blacks lost 20-15 (to Australia, which makes it even worse). Nuff said really ...
Later that morning, we started our 26 hour bus journey to Salta (in the northwest of Argentina).
Devil's Throat
The Falls themselves were as impressive as we had been told. The park is set up so that you can view the falls from the top (named Garganta Diablo, or DevilŽs throat), half way down and then at the bottom very close. As we walked around the sound of the water was ever present, as was the mist from the falls (our raincoats defintely came in handy!)
