On arrival
Day 1
On our 1st day we pitched up our tent, and then went over to the festival grounds to get the lay of the land. They had an excellent system to keep the grounds free of disposed beers cups. If you collected 20 empties (easy enough to do walking from one stage to the other), and turned them in, then you got a free drink :-)
The bands that we saw that day included:
Air Traffic
Counting Crows2
Counting Crows - Had seen them last night, but wanted to check them out again. The setlist was similar, but not identical and while they are good in a festival venue, they are better in a more intimate setting. Still a must see band in my opinion.Mika
Lenny Kravitz - Great to see Lenny Kravitz as I had never seen him live before. Lot of hits you know, and some that you had forgotten about. Good set ... even if it was pouring down with rain by then
R.E.M. - Played a spectrum of their hits (of course no Shinny Happy People though), putting on a great show, but never quite hitting any highs
The Chemical Brothers - Unfortunately we were too tired by then (they came on at 2am), so back to the tent for us!
