Anyway, the French proved that they can defeat anyone on the day, although then proceeded to lose to a below-par English team the next week ... go figure. Final score was 18-20, an exciting and tense game to watch.
The atmosphere before the game was quite electric as all fans were looking to the showdown. An earlier upset by the English over the Aussies (10-12), meant that the winner would now face what was thought of as an easier route to the final.
For us, following the world cup finished here as we didn't see the semi-finals or the final between England and South Africa except on TV (6-15 with South Africa the winners).
Close, but never close enough
And so it happened again, another World Cup with the All Blacks favourites, but failing to deliver up to the hype. Some might say it was inevitable, others are still looking for reasons why (rotation policy, forward passes, psychology ... the list goes on).Anyway, the French proved that they can defeat anyone on the day, although then proceeded to lose to a below-par English team the next week ... go figure. The gang in front of the beastly campervan
Heading over to Cardiff, Fraser has the dubious honour of driving a huge behemoth of a Campervan (with steering wheel on the left side - not so great for roundabouts) and had endless fun jumping over kerbs and reversing 50 metres down a street with cars parked either side. The atmosphere before the game was quite electric as all fans were looking to the showdown.
