Beautiful harbour, sun, beer, rugby .... what more could you want from a city??After a brief mini-tour of Marseille, we settled into one of the pubs to watch the opening game of the tournament, France vs. Argentina, and what a game it proved to be. Argentina completely stunned and outplayed the French (again), to show the world that they were a serious threat.

On Saturday we went to our first game of the tournament to see the All Blacks play Italy in what turned out to be a ruthless display in how to play top tier rugby. Some good tries, but after only 10 minutes or so the game was beyond Italy, who were probably more focused on the forthcoming Scotland game.
Andrea and Chantal managed to see Jonah Lomu and were lucky enough to get a shot of the big man.

After a brief catch-up with a few friends (Matt, plus Anna & Micheal), we set off for an extremely long drive to Nantes for the next day's game. For those whose geography of France isn't that great, Marseille is on the south coast and Nantes near the north-east coast, which meant approximately 15 hours of driving. Some might say madness, others might say a challenge!
