We like Kalbarri so much that we stayed for 4 nights....also, Stu got a hair cut here on Monday!
We didn't do much as it was just bliss... the weather was lovely (apart from one day of rain, but that passed quickly)
When leaving Kalbarri (Thursday morning) we went to the Kalbarri National Park, we saw the different gorges, which were lovely - Hawks Head, Ross Graham, The Loop and Natures Window.
We really liked Kalbarri, it was very beautiful and laidback... just up our street!
Update:
A quick story...
Whilst driving back from the gorges on the last day there was a minor incident that went something like this:
Version 1
Stuart's Driving down the gravel road when...
Stu: Oh dear darling I appear to be being stung on the shoulder by an unknown beasty!
Sarah: Oh, I think we'd better pull over then.
Stu: That sounds like a spiffing idea darling.
Stuart then brings the vehicle to a controlled halt, then exited the vehicle sensibly , removed his t-shirt and allowed the rather large wasp to fly away happily. The couple then proceeded on their journey.
Version 2
Stuart's Driving down the gravel road when...
Stu: Arrgghhh, something's stinging me... Arrgghhh...
Sarah: What?
Stu: On the Shoulder, Argghhhhhhhh it's doing it again!!!
Stuart then stamps on the brake pedal. Several of the vans wheels lock and van slews sideways.
Sarah: Arrghhh, you're gonna kill us, watch the road and calm down!!
Stu: Arrrrggggghhhhhhhh
Sarah: What is it?
Stu: Argghhh, I dunno, probably a redback or something big.. it hurts!! Arrghhh!!
The van then comes to a halt in a huge cloud of dust. Stuart then half jumps, half falls out of the van, removes his t-shirt in a panic and allows the rather small wasp to fly away. The couple then shakily proceeded on their journey.
