Today we left Dundee for Aviemore where the Rotary 1010 district conference was going to be held.  I was fortunate enough to ride up to Aviemore in a Scottish RV.  We had a nice drive up the A9.  It is beautiful country.  Large hills covered in heather and sheep.  We stopped in a small town called Pitlochry which has a regional playhouse that is very popular with folks in a 75 mile radius.  The theater is right next to a beautiful river and across the river is the town.  Unfortunately my camera batteries died so pictures will be limited for the next couple of entries.  The girls were able to ride a train up the local mountain.  They said it was a wonderful trip.  We arrived at Aviemore and got checked into our rooms.  Tami and Rachel had to bunk together for the weekend.  There was a banquet on Friday evening and before the banquet I had the pleasure of attending a reception with the Elgin Rotary Club and another one with the Dundee Rotary Club.  It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces from our travels.  After the banquet they had a composer who knew the District Governor sing show tunes that he had helped write along with a couple of back-up singers.  If you polled the audience the opinion was pretty well split down the middle i.e. you either loved it or hated it.  It was then back to the Elgin group for a night cap and on to bed.
