I saw so many fish that I took 27 pictures in under 15 minutes ! Some of the fish I saw were Needle fish, Ornate Wrasse, Blue-stripped snapper, Box Pufferfish, Spotted Trunkfish, Butterfly fish, Racoon fish, Moorish Idol, Little Bitty Yellow Tang, Achilles Tang, Eye-stripe Surgeonfish, Unicorn fish and my favorite, the Humuhumunukunuku apu a'a (the Picasso Triggerfish). Dad saw a baby octopus but it quickly vanished: they are shy. We later realized that we had spent 3 hours snorkeling !
In the afternoon, at the cove near our condo, we saw 6 turtles sunbathing and eating algae on the rocks
In the evening, Ajji, Tata and I went to the Old Lahaina Luau. They served smoked pig along with other authentic Hawaiian dishes. After dinner, the dancing started. I have added a video too. Hula dancing is a dance accompanied by chants (oli) or songs (mele). It was developed in the Hawaiian Islands by the Polynesians who originally settled here. The dances usually worship a Hawaiian goddess or god (ex. Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire, lightning wind and volcanoes). I highly recommend this Luau for its cultural show and the good food. Mom and Dad went out for their own dinner.
