Have found an amazing fish shop (lots of fishing around here) so have been enjoying octopus salad, grilled sea bass, seaweed salad and smoked salmon jerky... All very reasonably priced. The scallops, crabs, clams and oysters just look wonderful but we cant buy it all! The nice part about these delis is that they are very generous in letting you try stuff
Went to the cranberry farm yesterday. Didn't realize that the vines are are close to the ground and are cultivated in "bogs".
Friday: Spent the morning waiting for the vehicle. Andy was quite put out because he wasnt allowed in the workshop, to see what was going on, for insurance reasons! We set off again after 2:00 bound for Mt St Helens. Dont know if i have mentioned this before but road numbers here are well worked out... Even numbers are East/West and odd numbers are North/South. Wound along the Washington side of the Columbia River. The nice part of all the little creeks is that they are perfectly clean and clear and not blocked up with plastic and other rubbish. Everyone here is just so litter-conscious. Passed a Christmas Tree "farm" - now i know why American Christmas trees are so perfect. The rain seems to be over so we should get lovely views when we go tomorrow to see the mountain. Found a restful campsite and enjoying being able to sit outside again.
