"This place won't be the same without you guys...except you, Simon."

We've made it to the west coast. Did some serious driving across the Nullabor, a vast nothingness. Not much in particular to see but some very impressive landscape and great sunsets. Also saw a lot of real dingos, kangaroos, wombats, birds (just waiting for us to break down so they could peck out my eyes) and camels...some of which were even alive!

Apart from that there were roadhouses in the middle of nowhere. Everyone who worked at these places seemed suprisingly happy, considering they were miles from anything. Perhaps they were just smiling at the fact that we were actually paying 10 bucks for a loaf of bread.

Was quite an experience and great fun, and met some of the coolest and weirdest people. Great sense of accomplishment getting here.

The wine tour just outside of Adelaide was class. I think I learnt alot. It's not uncommon now to hear me proclaim that a wine has a "delightful oak-y aftertaste". It makes me sound mad intelligent and also really annoyed this 35 year old American girl who was on the tour with us...all good.

She did her best to teach me about wine and numerous other things and she turned out to be a bit of a star. She was the 'posh restaurant' to my 'Pizza Hut'. We learned alot from each other, and I seriously think she's helped me get one step closer to sussing everything out and, in the words of Casey, reaching that rainbow.

Did another wine tour in Margaret River on the west coast as well which was a great laugh too. Also took surfing lessons there and we all managed to stand up (except Dingo). In fact, Margaret River was class and I met a load of cool people there so the current plan (subject to change) is to head back down there to work. Met a guy who can get us a job in vineyards so we'll see how it goes.

But in the meantime we'll be hanging out in Perth. Have met up with Ash and Lou (of Crazy Monkey fame) so we're having a blast. Aaron will be leaving us this weekend as his holiday comes towards an end, so it'll be back to just me and Mike (and Dingo, who is doing great).

Will be sorry to see Sir Aaron go. It was strange having him over here and realising we no longer agree on anything, but since we've started understanding that it's been great. It's been a good laugh having him here, and some of his points of view and conversations with randoms never failed to crack me up.

Example:

"Why are you wearing that red jump suit?"

"I found it in my room"

"That's the best answer I've ever heard."

He's heading out to the outback for a 10 day trek, then visiting Monkey & No-Legs on the east coast, before making his way home.

Ah well, his candles burning out long before his legend ever will.
